Community Heart & Soul is a resident-driven process that engages the entire population of a town in identifying what they love most about their community, what future they want for it, & how to achieve it. The Macedonia Heart & Soul Project is an effort to reconnect citizens with what they love most about their community. Heart & Soul is your opportunity to aid in making change in your own community.

Macedonia Has a New, Interactive Mural!
Thanks to Cole Simmons, Macedonia’s Main Street Park is looking better than ever! Cole Simmons, a scout from Scouts BSA Troop 729 out of Treynor, was looking for an Eagle Scout Project that would be both inspiring and impactful to the community for years to come. Cole’s focus for the project was the beautification and restoration of Macedonia’s Main Street Park.
Cole created this inspirational hopscotch design on the sidewalk and also restored the Merry-Go-Round with fresh paint. Cole put a lot of hard work and planning into this project, and it really shows in his work. Thank you, Cole, for adding such beautiful artwork to our community!
This project was sponsored by Macedonia Heart & Soul, and the paint used was kindly donated by Mike Larson.

Thank You, Crossroads Ag 4-H Club!
Thanks to our Local 4-H Club, our Main Street Park now has two beautiful new park benches. They noticed that there was a lack of seating in the park, so they worked together to solve that problem. These 4-H kids built and donated these benches to the City, so be sure to check them out next time you’re on Main Street.

Who Won the Heart & Soul Quilt Drawing?
Sue Jacobson was the winner of the incredible quilt made by Eileen Adickes for a fundraiser for Macedonia Heart & Soul. Sue is Neil Clark’s cousin, and her dad, Lowell Smith, grew up in Macedonia. Sue Lives in Seattle but has always had a special place in her heart for Macedonia. When Sue heard that she had won the raffle, she said, “This makes my whole day!”
Thanks again to Eileen Adickes for taking the time to create not one, but two beautiful Macedonia themed quilts. The second quilt has a home in the Pioneer Trail Museum.
